The access token is used to update your video metadata, post comments, and download your own videos for redistribution to connected social platforms. The refresh token is used to obtain a new access token when the current one expires, without requiring you to sign in again.

Your account data, OAuth tokens, and credentials are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, a managed cloud database hosted in the United States. Access to this database is restricted to the HookPop service and is not publicly accessible.
When distributing your videos to social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and X), video files are temporarily downloaded to server memory or ephemeral local storage and are permanently deleted immediately after the upload to the destination platform is complete. We do not retain copies of your video content.
For Instagram Reels specifically, video files are additionally staged in Google Cloud Storage as a temporary intermediary (required by Meta's API) and are permanently deleted immediately after Meta confirms receipt.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
HookPop integrates with the following third-party platforms. Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective privacy policies:
We send your video content to Google Gemini solely for the purpose of generating metadata and captions. We do not control how third-party AI services handle submitted content and encourage you to review Google's AI privacy terms.
We retain your account data, connected social credentials, and usage history for as long as your account is active. If you disconnect a social media account, the associated tokens are deleted from our database immediately. If you disconnect your YouTube channel, your stored Google OAuth tokens are revoked with Google and deleted from our database immediately.
If you wish to have all of your data permanently deleted, please contact us and we will process your request within 30 days.
As a user of HookPop, you have the right to:
HookPop is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of HookPop after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
